The Hows and Whats
How good is your project? How much do you believe in it? How much of yourself and your own monies have you committed to it? How much of it do you control? How long have you been searching for funds? How many presentations have you already done? What are you willing to do to find the money? How far will you travel? We assume you have the dream. Do you also have the guts and the passion to play in the Big Leagues?
The Entrepreneurial Opportunity
We're seeking SERIOUS entrepreneurs with solid, well thought out packages. If you've gone beyond the startup stage, all the better. That means you are serious and committed. And acting on your dream.
The Details Of The Equity Investment
Your package should require a minimum of USD 1MM. Projects up to USD 500MM will be considered if the profit potential is significant.
Some details. You'll be happy to know there are no front end fees. Even happier to know there are no back end fees, either. No games here. However, there WILL be further business expenses if you are successful in obtaining an investment commitment.
Raising Capital
If you're the average entrepreneur who finds his or her way to our website, you've probably been trying to raise capital for your company for at least two years. Some have been at it, unsuccessfuly, for up to five years and more. It's a very, very tough road. During the dot com mania, there were still only 1 in 2,000 companies which got funding. Now, after the billions lost in the dot com meltdown, that ratio has increased to one 1 in 10,000 projects presented. Well over 50% of those will get no more than $1,000,000 and the price they will pay for that is likely to be over 51% of their company, effectively giving up all control. As well, most VC firms in the Silicon valley will NOT fund any company outside of the US or Canada. Those are your real odds in this game. As a comparison, your odds of winning in a Las Vegas roulette game are 1-38.
TAANSTAFL
This is a well known phrase used in the US a lot. It stands for "There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch." It means you will not get something for nothing. If you are raising millions for your company's future, you're asking the investors to take a huge risk. No, you cannot "guarantee" profits, no matter how excited you are about your project. Obviously, you do not have the collateral for such amounts. If you did, you'd have already successfully gone to your bank. So the investor is going to be doing some very serious due diligence, a site inspection, a feasibilty study and looking into business insurance. All those things cost money. You will be expected to share in those costs. You will know, at the time you receive your Letter of Commitment, exactly how much that will be, anywhere from $20,000 to $90,000, depending on the size and complexity of your project.
If you object to these costs, please stop reading now. If you believe that only the investor should shoulder all the risks, please stop reading now. If you think the investor will pay your share, too, then "take it out of the proceeds," please stop reading now. If you feel that there is no way you can access or pay such costs, please stop reading now.
Hopeless?
We don't think so. If you're passionate about your project and believe that there will be some way to figure out how to get the funds for those costs, you've got a saving grace. If you submit your project summary and are invited, it means the Trust wants to fund you. And if your presentation is as good as you believe you can make it, you will be offered a Letter of Commitment. Does that mean you have to begin putting out monies immediately? No. Once given, there is no time limit on the Letter of Commitment. If it takes a year for you to round up the funds, they will then go forward with you as if it had been only a week. So again, all you're risking are the funds to travel wherever they are. How much of an entrepreneur are you?
How Much Do You Need to Know?
If you need to have all the answers in advance, stop reading here as this deal is not for you. The basics are that the funders are a Private Asian Trust. They've been in business since the late 1940s. They are tough, but fair, investors. And what they invest in primarily are people, not projects. Yes, your project and plans must be sound. But YOU are the most important criteria.
What You'll Get From Us
Those are the basics we can offer you. We've an FAQ file to send you which answers other questions, but details of who and where they are will NOT be forthcoming. If invited, you'll be gambling your time and travel expenses to meet with them wherever they happen to be holding their next meeting. Thailand? The US? South Africa? South America? Vienna? London? If that's where they're meeting, you'll be expected to go. Too risky for your blood? Again, stop reading here as this deal is not for you.
One other thing you can expect from us is 'toughness.' We'll do our best to bring you to the top of your form before you meet with the Trust. We're not going to be nasty, but if you're not ready to "do it over again" if we feel your Executive Summary is not up to our standards, you're not the kind of client we want for this funding source. We're professionals. We know what works. And if you tell us that "we've done lots of presentations, so we don't need to change anything," we'll cordially walk away from you and you'll never know what you missed. If you can't work under these conditions, please don't bother contacting us.
Do You Fit?
What sort of projects will they look at? Pretty much anything except dot com projects (understandable) or a mining project in the wilds of Venezuela. There's more information in the FAQ file. Absolutely no public companies.
What To Do
Your first "risk?" Send us a short Executive Summary of your business plan. We'll send you a template of what they'd like to see in that Executive Summary. If you don't have a business plan, you're not yet ready for prime time, and we will not submit your project to the Trust. All documents must be in English.
If this doesn't seem to fit you, please pass it along to someone who might need it. And, if s/he gets an offer, be sure they let us know it was YOU who sent them. We actually enjoy paying commissions.
Ready to play?
The "Do It Now" Part
Email us. Give us a short description of your project and how much you need. In the Subject line, put "Equity Capital". DO NOT send any attachments.
We'll respond as quickly as possible as we do travel. You WILL get an answer. If your project seems to fit the funder's parameters, we'll send you the FAQ file and the Executive Summary template.
Simple enough? Let's get going.
